Submission Guidelines

Important Information

  • Clinical Cases must be submitted only through the online submission system. Follow the step‑by‑step instructions on the screen. The format is defined by the Judging Committee, appointed by the Scientific Committee.
  • To submit a case, the author must be registered for the conference. Upon completion of registraiton you will be able to submitt your case(s).
    • Click Submit Now to begin the registration process.
    • Start Early: During registration, you may be asked to upload supporting documents for review and verification. Begin your registration and submission as soon as possible to allow time for vetting and approval.
    • Already Registered? Log back into your registration account and select “Submit Case” to upload your submission.
  • The main (first) author must complete the registration form with correct personal details and a valid email address.
  • All communication regarding the submission will be sent only to the main author by email.

 

Formatting Requirements

  • Language: English
  • Title: Maximum of 300 characters
  • Keywords: Up to three (3) keywords required.
  • Authors: Maxiumum of five (5) authors per submission, all from the same institution where the case was performed. A valid email address for each author is required
  • File format: PowerPoint (pptx)
  • Slides: Maximum of ten (10) slides. Videos must be embeded in the slides.
  • File Size: Maximum of 40 MB.
  • Font: Use Arial, size 26 pt or larger, double line spacing.

Required Slide Order & Content

  1. Title (do not include author names or institutions)
  2. Clinical Presentation
  3. Angiographic Assessment or Adjunctive Method (such as echocardiography, tomography, ultrasound, physiology, etc.)
  4. Decision-Making
  5. Intervention(s) Performed
  6. Post-Intervention Evolution
  7. Conclusions or “Learning Points”

 

  • The results of the intervention must be presented clearly, and the the conclusions must be based on the case procedures performed.
  • Do not include: Bibliographic references,literature review content, author names, or institutional affiliations must not appear on the slides. Any violation will be
  • Limit abbreviations. When used, each abreviation must be written in full the first time it appears, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.

 

Submission Management

  • After submitting, the main author can log into their personal page to edit the submission until the final deadline. Each submission will receive a confirmation code, which will include the individual registration details of the author and institution.
  • Notifications: The assessment results will be published in the submission system on February 23.
  • The presentation date and time will be be announced in the sumbission system.
  • Any disputes arising during the judging process will be resolved by the Congress Scientific Committee, whose decision is final.

Edwards Award

Advanced Clinical Immersion at St. Paul Hospital, with Dr. John Webb, in Vancouver – Canada

To participate in the scientific program offered by Edwards, the LATAM Valves scientific committee will evaluate and select the best cases in the Aortic position or Mitral position for Valve-in-Valve, using the Edwards Lifesciences device, commercially available on the market.

The evaluation will be based on objective criteria previously published by LATAM Valves.

The pre-selected cases will be submitted to Edwards, who will validate that the authors meet the necessary criteria and requirements to be able to participate in Edwards’ scientific program.
